Quarter Flip Golf Game Rules
Players: 4, 6, or 8 players in even sides
Quarter Flip is a coin-flip best ball where the teams reset every hole. Each tee, every player is flipped Heads or Tails to set the two sides, and the low ball on the winning side takes the hole value. Birdies double the hole, eagles triple it, and either side can throw the hammer to raise the stakes.

Before each hole, every player is assigned Heads or Tails, and the two sides play that hole. Sides reset at the next tee, so partnerships change constantly. It is legal with even sides: four, six, or eight players.
Each side plays best ball. The low ball on the side counts, one ball, every hole. The lower side wins the hole and its value. A tied hole is dead and nothing carries.
Multipliers and the hammer
Every hole starts at the value you set. The winning side owning a birdie doubles the hole; an eagle or better triples it. Multipliers stack: base, then birdie or eagle, then the hammer.
The hammer doubles the hole when the other side accepts, and it can be redoubled up to a cap. A hammer that is never accepted has no effect, and declining it concedes the hole at its pre-hammer value with no doubling.
Last three holes
On holes 16, 17, and 18 the side that is down the most sets the hole value, a built-in catch-up. If the match is all square, the value rides at whatever it was.
Common questions
How do you play Quarter Flip in golf?
Every hole, flip each player Heads or Tails to set two sides, then play best ball for the hole value. The low ball on the winning side takes the hole, with birdie and eagle multipliers and an optional hammer.
What is the hammer in Quarter Flip?
The hammer is a raise: a side throws it to double the hole, and it only counts if the other side accepts. It can be redoubled up to a cap. Decline it and you concede the hole at its value before the throw.
How many players do you need?
Quarter Flip needs even sides. It is legal with four (two on two), six (three on three), or eight (four on four).
How does Skins Golf handle Quarter Flip?
Skins Golf sets the sides on each hole, applies the birdie, eagle, and hammer multipliers, runs the last-three value pick, and keeps the running total automatically.
