Las Vegas Golf Game Rules
Players: 4 (two teams of two)
In Vegas, each two-player team combines its scores on a hole into a single two-digit number, lower score first. A 4 and a 6 become 46. The two teams' numbers are subtracted, and the difference is the points won.
Building the number
Always put the lower score first. Scores of 5 and 7 make 57, not 75. Your opponents do the same, then the smaller number is subtracted from the larger and the winning team scores the difference, multiplied by the point value.
Flipping
The painful twist: when a team makes a birdie (or better), it can 'flip' the losing team's number so the high score goes first. A team that shot 4 and 8 (normally 48) gets flipped to 84, ballooning the loss. Eagles often flip twice.
Common questions
How does the Vegas golf game work?
Two-player teams combine their hole scores into a two-digit number with the low score first, then the difference between the teams' numbers is the points won.
What is flipping in Vegas?
When a team birdies, it can reverse the opponents' number so their high score leads, sharply increasing the points they lose on that hole.
