6-6-6 Golf Game Rules (Four-Ball, Alt-Shot, Aggregate)
Players: 4 players (2 teams of 2)
6-6-6 is one match in three flavors. Four players in two fixed teams play the round as three six-hole legs, and each leg is a different format: holes 1-6 are four-ball, 7-12 are alternate shot, and 13-18 are aggregate. The lower team score wins each hole. It rewards a pair that can play every style, not just their favorite one.
The three legs
Holes 1-6, four-ball: both partners play their own ball and the team's better score counts on each hole.
Holes 7-12, alternate shot: the team plays one ball, partners alternating shots. One score per team, per hole.
Holes 13-18, aggregate: both partners' scores are added together for a combined team score on each hole.
Scoring
The lower team value wins each hole, and the per-hole gaps roll up over the eighteen. It is usually played net, with the result split evenly inside each team.
The leg order is fixed. The point is that a team has to be complete: a duo that lives on four-ball can give it all back in the alternate-shot leg.
